Canine POSTURAL REHABILITATION Professional

Join Dr. Karen Gellman and Dr. Judith M. Shoemaker for this fantastic program with an exciting amount of CE hours (49 hours approved for NYS, RACE, AVCA and IVCA!)   We are reviving the Canine PR program this year as a live online 4-week program, with recorded on-demand lectures and 3 live sessions weekly (Practitioner Body Use, Practical Applications and Q&A).  We will also have special guest lectures by Drs. Laurie McCauley, Janice Huntingford, and NYCAVMA’s own Heather O’Leary!  A separate live-in-person, hands-on training will be set later in the summer, possibly at a canine facility in NY, so if you have a terrific canine sports center near you, let us know!!

Canine Postural Rehabilitation Professional
March 28 - April 24, 2026
Tuition: $2295

NYCAVMA member Dr. Alisa Sneade-Koenig, who took the program in 2012 says "I have used this information every day in my practice and I tell people it is one of the most valuable tools I have ever learned to bring and keep horses and dogs to soundness”.

PR teaches about the neurology and mechanics behind standing posture, and how domestication systematically distorts the proprioceptive signaling that feeds into postural control. Postural Rehab is a “pre-technique” that will make all your wonderful modalities work better, faster and last longer!  We help dogs organize their intent and regain a coherent relationship with gravity, the most unifying force on earth.  Your geriatric and neurological patients in particular will massively benefit from this knowledge because you will have the framework with which to manage their quality of life.
