The New York Complementary & Alternative Veterinary Medical Association (NYCAVMA) is a group of licensed veterinarians who are dedicated to supporting and providing valid continuing education for the complementary veterinarian modalities, including such therapeutic modalities as acupuncture, chiropractic and osteopathic manipulations, herbal medicine, homeopathic medicine, homotoxicology, nutritional therapy, massage techniques, physical therapy, and other light and sound therapies.

Japan Ecotour 2026Ihor Basko is organizing an EcoTour to Japan in November of 2026, "Japan: A Place of Wonder, Health, and Beauty Veterinary Conference and Exploration of Nature". The theme of the conference will be Aging - how we as veterinarians can best support a geriatric pet, or a human, through the process. Lectures on symptoms, prevention, supporting repair and regeneration, medicinal mushrooms, and detoxification.

Scholarship Available$1500 Annual Award - Application Acceptance Begins January 2026. A generous donation from Carvel Tiekert, DVM, a longtime supporter of holistic medicine, has enabled NY CAVMA to establish The NYCAVMA Tiekert Educational Scholarship. The NY CAVMA will award a $1500 scholarship to a veterinarian or veterinary student based on demonstrated need and interest in complementary medicine, to be used for a training class in complementary modalities.
