In Memoriam - Dr. Ihor Basko

The veterinary community mourns the loss of Dr. Ihor Basko, who passed away on February 14, 2026, just one day after celebrating his 79th birthday. Dr. Basko, a long‑standing and deeply respected contributor to the IVC Journal and member of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA), dedicated his career to advancing integrative and holistic approaches to animal health.

​For decades, Dr. Basko embodied the principles of compassion, healing, and service that define our profession. He was not only a skilled clinician but also a teacher, mentor, and advocate whose influence extended far beyond his own practice.
